In case you missed it, we are partnering with the Delaware Department of Justice to provide gifts to children in foster care. There are around 500 children in foster care in Delawre, 68% of these children reside in New Castle County. Not only do these children face insurmountable stress, inconsistent living situations, and an unknown future, often times they are faced without having basic items for day-to-day needs, let alone have a festive and plentiful holiday season.
We know that our families have their own stresses and hurdles, but I also know how generous and giving you have been in the past. We are almost to our goal of $2400. We are hopeful to be able to provide gifts for as many children as we can. Teens and older children are often forgotten during the holidays and we hope this funding can fill the gap. Any extra funds will be used for families and children in domestic violence programs.
You can drop off cash or checks to the office before 12/10/2021 OR pick up a form in the office and have it added to your January childcare bill.
